Teutopolis High School FFA members came to TJHS last week and talked to 7th and 8th grade students about the agriculture program at the high school and the benefits of joining the FFA organization. These young men and young ladies did an excellent job with their presentation!




To kick off their 'Careers' unit, eighth grade students in Mrs. Deters's classroom explored books about a variety of careers. At the conclusion of the unit, students will write a research paper about a career that interests them the most.




Teutopolis Junior High students had a surprise at lunch for Valentine's Day. TJHS Student Council had Joe's Pizza and Pasta cater a spaghetti meal. A great surprise for a great staff and students!



The TGS & TJHS Band Concert this evening will start at 7:00 PM in the TJHS Gymnasium. The start time was originally scheduled to start at 7:30 PM but has now been changed. Please help us pass the word on this.

Congratulations to the TJHS 8th grade boys basketball team as they defeated Cumberland this evening 55-27 for the sectional championship! The 8th grade team will now play in the state tournament this Saturday at 11:30 AM at Tolono Unity. Great job Wooden Shoes! We are proud of you!

Congratulations to the TJHS 7th grade boys basketball team on a Sectional Championship tonight. They defeated Bridgeport 39-21 for a right to advance to State! Way to go players and coaches! We are proud of you!




TJHS students had a nice surprise this past Friday. The high school cheerleaders came to the junior high for "High Five Friday!" Cheerleaders gave junior high students and faculty "high fives" as they walked down the hallway. Thank you HS cheerleaders for helping us start the day in a positive way!

Congratulations to the TJHS 7th and 8th grade boys basketball teams. They are this year's South Central Conference Champions! Both teams finished 5-0 in the conference. The South Central Junior High Conference consists of Teutopolis, St. Anthony, Effingham, Charleston, Taylorville, and Mattoon. Great job players and coaches!


High school boys basketball player Brendan Niebrugge came to the junior high this morning and presented Mr. Niemerg with his jersey for "Impact Gameday". For each home game a high school boys basketball player will pick a Unit 50 staff member that has had an impact on their academic or playing career. Way to go Mr. Niemerg! Thanks for all you do for the students, past and present, at TJHS!!

Chris Tingley proudly presents Lillian Wernsing the November "Kids Have Talent" award certificate and gift for her achievement in band. She was selected by Teutopolis Junior High School band director, Melissa Orndorff, for her outstanding ability playing the flute and piano. The Tingley Insurance Agency encourages all students to strive for excellence in all aspects of their lives. Great job Lillian!

The TGS & TJHS Band Concert was a huge success last night! It was packed full of a variety of terrific artists! Some fifth grade band students started the evening by playing Christmas songs while chorus students from the junior high and high school sang Christmas Carols in the front entrance. The sixth grade band and junior high band then performed and left the audience in awe! Way to go band students, chorus students, and Mrs. Orndorff, our band director! Thanks for some great entertainment last night!

TJHS had some special guests in the building this morning before school for "High Five Friday!" The THS Lady Shoes and Coach Laurie Thompson showed up to give the junior high students a "high five" for all the work they have done in the classroom and on the court so far this semester!
