Distance Learning

Dear Parents/Guardians of Teutopolis CUSD #50,

Good evening!  I hope this communication finds you all well.  In order to proceed with learning opportunities and remote instructional learning, I need your assistance.

In moving towards the next level of in home instruction, we are finding it necessary to gain more information about internet capabilities in each student’s home.  Please take a few minutes to complete an online Home Internet Resources survey that you will by clicking here.

If you are unable to take this survey online, please call the Teutopolis CUSD#50 Unit Office at 217-857-3535 on Wednesday, March 25 between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm we will take your survey you via phone.  This is an important next step for us to determine methods of instruction. Please complete the survey by 8:00 PM on March 25th.

Secondly, we are asking all district students/parents to pick up further materials/packets/laptops on Monday, March 30th between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm at your child/children’s respective school.  We will be distributing educational materials as well as Chromebooks to students in grades 3 through 8 (grades 9-12 have already received Chromebooks).  The Chromebooks will be numbered and assigned to each child individually. Login and repair information will be provided upon pick up.

Please be reminded that we are offering free Grab and Go lunches to any student ages 18 and under at Teutopolis Grade School on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with pick up time from 10:30 am through 11:30 am.  Please fill out the Grab and Go survey on our website if you wish to receive the lunches or call 217-857-3535. If you find you need your meals delivered due to a transportation problem, please contact the same number previously listed for assistance.

All public school districts are awaiting further information from the Illinois State Board of Education regarding regulations that we will be required to follow regarding Remote Instructional Learning Activities.  As events unfold, we will continue to communicate in a timely and transparent manner.  Further details regarding continuity of educational opportunities and instruction will be forthcoming.

Sincerely,

Deborah Philpot,

Interim Superintendent
