TJHS - Sam Probst - Sam went 4-6 in our doubleheader vs Greenville. He's always a team player and will do anything asked of him.
THS - Paige Swingler - One of our 5 seniors that have taken on a lot of responsibilities this year. Everything from running warm ups to begin practice to organizing meals for tourney trips. Paige has stepped up in that way while also being a primary passer on varsity, and working very hard at improving her passing.

Last Week's Athletes of the Week are Addelyn Calkins and Gavin Buening.
Coach Meyer said this of Addelyn: Addelyn Calkins is an ideal Athlete of the Week. Addelyn is the TJHS Softball starting catcher for the 2024-2025 season, Addelyn is an individual who gives 110% at practice, and even more during the game. Addelyn excels as a catcher, but truly is a utility player who can be utilized anywhere on the field. In addition to Addelyn's defensive performance this season, Addelyn led the team with a batting average of .571 and an OBP (on base percentage) of .618. Addelyn represented Teutopolis with good sportsmanship towards opposing teams, the umpires, and her teammates. Addelyn's love for the game of softball reflects daily when encouraging her teammates, assisting others to improve in the game, and her outgoing personality that fills the dugout with laughter. Excellent job Addelyn, continue to make TTOWN proud!
For THS Soccer, Gavin is one of our Varsity team Captains for this season and he has done a great job stepping up and into that role. He worked very hard on his own during the off season to improve his conditioning and technical skill and it shows! He is also our leading goal scorer and tied for leading assists so far this season! Gavin is very dependable, coach-able and dedicated to getting better.

Athletes are nominated by coaches based on their character in addition to their accomplishments on the court or field. The selected athletes each week will be receiving a $10 gift certificate to Teutopolis Treats! Starting next week, we will include TJHS athletes in this as well.
Congratulations to our first ever Athlete of the Week - ANNA PROBST! Anna is an all-state player on our girls' tennis team, placing 8th in doubles last year. Not only that, but as Coach Deters says, "Anna pairs an impressive determination with a stellar attitude. She models great sportsmanship both on and off the tennis court!"

The Teutopolis High School September Rookies of the Month are Emily Meyer and Carson Cornell . Each month, underclassmen are recognized for their active participation in the school community, their academic efforts, and their kindness and respect toward others. These students are named Rookies of the Month. The Rookie of the Month program is sponsored by Hank Niebrugge Country Financial.
