After reading The World’s Best Class Plant, Mrs. Drees received a spider plant to care for in the classroom this year. Each student got to take home a spider plant start of their own. We hope they enjoy watching them grow over the summer. What a fun and memorable hands-on learning experience!

Mrs. Repking’s first grade class enjoyed Camping Day with their very own “tents”! The day was filled with enriching and fun campfire-themed activities, including a flashlight and blanket reading campout.

Officer Greuel and Deputy Dale visited the second-grade classes to teach students about the proper use of 911. They explained when to call, why it’s important, and what information dispatchers need during an emergency. The students even had the opportunity to practice making a 911 call with a dispatcher. It was a valuable and meaningful learning experience for everyone involved. Thank you, Officer Greuel and Deputy Dale, for sharing this important lesson!

Kindergarten has been busy lately! They visited the post office and mailed their own letters, stopped by Wessel’s for slushies, played at the mini park, and even enjoyed a petting zoo!

The 2nd graders had their annual fiesta. Thank you Puerto Vallarta and El Rancherito for donating the food!!

Teutopolis Grade School Welcomes Natalie Borries and Audrey Runde

This 1st grader set a goal, and nothing was going to stop her from reaching it. We are so proud of her hard work and hope her love for reading never stops!

The students in Mrs. Drees’ reading class challenged themselves by reading chapter books for tickets as well as filling out an April calendar for extra reading at home. They read 1,958 minutes. The top three readers each read over 300 minutes. Great job, third graders!

TGS fifth graders enjoyed a rainy Weather Day presentation at Busch Stadium! They kicked off the morning learning about meteorology, storms, and the forces of motion, then wrapped up the day by cheering on the Cardinals to an exciting win. It was an incredible day all around!

Ms. Siemer’s science class got hands-on (and a little sweet!) while learning about how sedimentary rocks form . Students modeled weathering and erosion by breaking Jolly Ranchers into pieces, then carefully layered them in cups. By adding pressure with books, they simulated compaction—just like what happens deep within the Earth over time!
They loved observing the colorful layers they created, and of course, enjoyed a well-earned sweet reward for their hard work.

Mrs. Waldhoff’s 2nd grade class recently explored different animal habitats in science. Each student selected a habitat to research, learning about the plants and animals that live there. They then applied their knowledge to create their own detailed habitat models.
