This week, some of Ms. Mette's 4th graders went above and beyond by dressing the part for their biography presentations. From famous historical figures, musicians, athletes, and authors, these students showcased their creativity in a truly impressive way.
Our annual Fifth Grade 🇺🇸 American Revolution Play 🇺🇸 was a great success! We’re proud of our talented students, appreciative of our dedicated staff and grateful of our supportive families for joining us! A wonderful celebration of learning and our Wooden Shoe community!
Student Council recently purchased new recess equipment for all students, thanks to the overwhelming success of our recent Read-a-Thon! We hope our students have a great time enjoying all of the new equipment during recess.
TGS celebrated Read Across America this week! Our students and staff enjoyed sharing their love of reading through guest readers, themed dress-up days, and lots of time spent with great books. Building strong readers is at the heart of what we do, and it was wonderful to see so much excitement around literacy at TGS!
The First Graders showed their support to Ms. Eva and the Lady Shoes today by making and signing a poster for her! They want to wish both the Lady Shoes and the Shoes good luck in their postseason games this week!

Teutopolis Grade School Student Council and staff recently came together to support the Pals family as they rebuild following the devastating house fire. We are so proud of the generosity and compassion shown by our school community. It’s moments like these that remind us what it truly means to be a Wooden Shoe, supporting one another when it matters most.

Mrs. Kreke’s kindergarten class earned a pizza party for working so hard on learning their play parts. Now they are ready to perform the show on Thursday!
TGS kindergarten students had an exciting day at the Effingham Performance Center!
They enjoyed watching Dinosaur World and were captivated by the prehistoric adventure. It was a fun, engaging experience filled with learning, laughter, and lots of dinosaur excitement!

Mrs. Repking’s first grade class has spent the past two weeks diving into the excitement of the Winter Olympics! Students researched different events and wrote about their personal favorites, building both their knowledge and writing skills.
To bring their learning to life, they even hosted their own classroom “Olympics,” competing in activities inspired by curling, alpine skiing, skating, hockey, bobsled, skeleton, and biathlon. What a fun and active way to learn!

Mrs. Kinkelaar’s first graders had the sweetest Valentine’s Day celebration! The students had so much fun creating their adorable Valentine’s Day boxes and getting ready for a special Valentine's Day exchange with their friends. They enjoyed yummy treats, festive crafts, and lots of smiles and laughter all day long. It was a fun-filled day full of friendship, creativity, and Valentine cheer!
Mrs. Waldhoff's second grade class took part in a book tasting! With the help from Mrs. Wells, they got a “taste” of different books to try next time they go to the library!

Today, our Student Council members surprised the TGS staff with Orange Crush sodas as a small thank-you for truly “Crush-ing it” every day at TGS! We are so grateful for all they do to make our building such a great place to learn and grow.
TGS will be hosting a Scholastic book fair in the TGS gymnasium on Tuesday, February 17th from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. The Teutopolis Civic Club has generously donated $5 towards a purchase for each of the first 300 grade school students to shop at the book fair. Thanks for supporting and helping to create a reading community in our school!
It was a busy and exciting day in Mrs. Kreke’s kindergarten class last Friday! Students became paleontologists for the day and also helped celebrate Mrs. Kreke’s birthday. What a fun way to learn and celebrate!
Mrs. Repking’s 1st graders had a blast celebrating the Super Bowl with football-themed centers, games, and activities! So much fun learning and playing like champs!
