Olivia's artwork was selected as one of the 100 finalists for Picture the Music this year! There were thousands of entries and Olivia represented Teutopolis Grade School very well. She attended the virtual ceremony Saturday March 27 and learned she received a blue ribbon award for her artwork “River of Music”. Great work Olivia!
This kindergarten student had fun completing a "Write the room" while learning new words about space.
Cassie Carpenter and high school helper, Hannah Rodgers, helped the kindergarteners learn about space using VR goggles.
Mrs. Jansen's class made constellations with toothpicks and mini marshmallows. It was a great way to end their space unit.
Mrs. Jansen's kindergarteners worked on setting a trap to try and catch the Leprechaun. No luck again this year!
Mrs. Hoene's and Mrs. Jansen's second graders took a virtual tour of the
White House using the virtual reality goggles. They viewed and learned about interesting places in the White House. This ties in with the story they are reading called Grace for President.
Mrs. Schackmann's 4th grade students traveled to a few locations in the Southern United States. They toured Big Cypress National Preserve and the Kennedy Space Center through the use of the virtual reality goggles.
Brittany took first place in Mrs. Habing’s challenge to recite Pi. She recited Pi to 165 decimal places! Gus took second place by reciting to 107 decimal places. Both received a ‘Pi’neapple and Oatmeal Cream ‘Pi’es. Brittany also received a gift card to Niemerg’s for a free ‘Pi’e!

Mrs. Meyer’s fifth grade class got to choose an American Revolution topic to recreate. The students did a wonderful job creating games, making 3D models, creating Google slides, and making puzzles. The students will be presenting their projects in class this week.
Third graders in Mrs. Siemer’s class enjoyed some hands on activities with magnets after studying about electricity and magnets in science class.
It was Wacky Wednesday at TGS today for Dr. Seuss week. We had some wacky kiddos come to Mrs. Ziegler's preschool today!
Teutopolis High school student council members visited TGS for Dr. Seuss Week. Zoe Cremens read "Yertle the Turtle", Tia Probst shared Rice Krispie treats, Isabelle Hemmem brought Dr. Seuss coloring pages, and Macy Probst read "Green Eggs and Ham" to Mrs. Jansen's kindergarten class.
Watson Lee brought in Thing 1 and Thing 2 to help kick off our Dr. Seuss week. Thank you Watson and family!
Mrs. Hoene's second grade class had a visit from Dale, the calf, during FFA week. Dale, the calf, came to school along with Ethan, Elizabeth, and Mr. & Mrs. Weidner. Ethan and Elizabeth explained to the class what has to be done to care for Dale. The students had a chance to help bottle feed Dale and pet him! A bag full of goodies was handed out to the class. The students really enjoyed seeing Dale and learning something new! We want to thank the entire Weidner family for the fun experience!!
Miss Mette’s fourth graders used engineering skills along with science knowledge of circuits, batteries, and conductors of electricity to light an LED bulb.

Mrs. Kinkelaar’s first graders had the best morning practicing lots of reading skills! After reading the story, “The Mitten” by: Jan Brett, students acted the story out, sequenced the story, and retold the story with partners!
“Snow” much fun in Mrs. Drees’ class today! Students made their own snowflakes or snow creations!
