After reading The World’s Best Class Plant, Mrs. Drees received a spider plant to care for in the classroom this year. Each student got to take home a spider plant start of their own. We hope they enjoy watching them grow over the summer. What a fun and memorable hands-on learning experience!

Officer Greuel and Deputy Dale visited the second-grade classes to teach students about the proper use of 911. They explained when to call, why it’s important, and what information dispatchers need during an emergency. The students even had the opportunity to practice making a 911 call with a dispatcher. It was a valuable and meaningful learning experience for everyone involved. Thank you, Officer Greuel and Deputy Dale, for sharing this important lesson!

Ms. Siemer’s science class got hands-on (and a little sweet!) while learning about how sedimentary rocks form . Students modeled weathering and erosion by breaking Jolly Ranchers into pieces, then carefully layered them in cups. By adding pressure with books, they simulated compaction—just like what happens deep within the Earth over time!
They loved observing the colorful layers they created, and of course, enjoyed a well-earned sweet reward for their hard work.

Remember Mrs. Eckelberry’s class hatching eggs back in September?

Well, we’ve come full circle! Students had the chance to dye the very eggs their hatched chickens are now laying.

What a special and fun full-circle moment for these 4th graders!
