Thank you to all our students and staff for making American Education Week such a fun and spirited celebration! Each day brought creative dress-up themes, and we loved seeing everyone participate and show their school pride.

Throughout the week, we also surprised our daily gift certificate winners. Congratulations to all who were chosen; you helped make the week even more exciting!

Thank you, TEA, for sponsoring American Education Week!

TGS has officially wrapped up our “Food for Friends” drive, and what an incredible success it was!
Our school-wide goal was 6,900 items, and our amazing students went above and beyond, collecting over 9,000 items to donate to Catholic Charities. Because we met our goal, the entire school has earned a NO HOMEWORK day coming soon!

Today, our 2nd quarter Student Council members, along with volunteers from the TJHS Student Council, helped load all the donated items.

A huge THANK YOU to all TGS families for your generosity and support in making this drive such a success!

Thursday, November 20th, in Illinois is considered "Family Reading Night." This is an annual statewide event to encourage families to spend quality time reading together. Reading together can be an enjoyable activity for children and help encourage a passion for reading that can last a lifetime. We encourage you to take a little bit of time out of your day on November 20th to sit down and read with your child or children. “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” -- Dr. Seuss

First graders in Mrs. Mellendorf’s class have been hard at work practicing their simple addition and subtraction facts! To earn a piece of a scarecrow, they had to answer a math fact correctly. Our 5th graders had the amazing opportunity to join a live author chat with Kate DiCamillo, the beloved author of Because of Winn-Dixie and so many other favorites! She shared an inspiring message about the importance of reading and even answered some of the students’ own questions. What a memorable experience for our young readers!
