Summer fun continues at the TGS Library! We’ve loved having the Effingham Public Library join us the past two weeks for story time and crafts — and there’s one more chance to join the fun! Don’t miss our final visit from the Effingham Public Library next Tuesday, June 24th from 9:00–9:30 AM for story time and a craft. Plus, the TGS Library will be open 8:30 AM–12:00 PM so you can stock up on more exciting books! Congratulations to this week’s library drawing winner! Congratulations to our first Summer Library Drawing winner! We hope you have an amazing time at the movies! More winners to come! Stop by the TGS Library every Tuesday morning for your chance to win.

Our first graders had a camp-tastic day filled with stories, science, and s’mores! From crafting delicious treats to exploring the magic of light with a firefly glow stick experiment, the fun never stopped. Tents were pitched, imaginations ran wild, and the joy of reading came alive under our pretend stars. A big thank you to all the teachers who made this cozy classroom campout one to remember!

Petting Zoo Fun! Our Kindergarten students had a blast at the Petting Zoo, thanks to the amazing parents, grandparents, and friends who brought in animals! We’re so grateful for your support — the students absolutely loved it!

So proud of Hudson in Mrs. Willman's class for earning the most AR points in 1st grade! He racked up an incredible 230 points this year and was rewarded with a well-deserved Jimmy John’s lunch Way to go, Hudson! Keep up the amazing reading!

Our 3rd graders had an amazing time at the park to celebrate the end of the school year!

Mrs. Schabbing's 5th graders wrapped up their literature circle books with a special surprise — mystery adult readers! Each mystery reader from our school and village community read one of the student-selected books and joined us for thoughtful discussions. Students and guests shared their thoughts, reflected on lessons learned, and explored meaningful themes together. In addition to reading, students completed a project to show their understanding of the book. Some even created detailed dioramas of key scenes — check out the amazing work pictured! A huge THANK YOU to our incredible mystery readers for making this such a memorable and meaningful experience!

Kindergarten Adventures! TGS kindergarteners took a fun-filled walk to the post office and Wessel's! They learned how to mail a letter—from stamps to sending—and then enjoyed a well-deserved treat with slushies at Wessel's! Learning and fun go hand in hand in our community!

Our thoughtful cooks baked up something special—delicious cakes to celebrate our wonderful retirees! One of our retirees happens to be a longtime kindergarten teacher, so it was the perfect chance to spread the love to our kindergartners as well. Big thanks to everyone who helped make the day extra sweet!

The countdown is ON in Mrs. Repking’s first grade class! To celebrate the final 10 days of school, students are popping a balloon each day to reveal a surprise activity inside! Today’s balloon? A Paper Airplane Contest! Students used their knowledge of lines of symmetry to design their planes, then tested their creations in a friendly tournament to see which flew the farthest. What a fun way to combine learning and celebration!

Special Visitors in Second Grade! Officer Ritz and Deputy Dale stopped by our second grade classrooms to share about their important work in the community! Students got a firsthand look at a real police car and learned all about what it's like to be in law enforcement. The visit tied in perfectly with their current book—Officer Buckle and Gloria—a story about a safety-conscious officer and his clever dog. Thanks to our guests for bringing the lesson to life!
