Let’s end the school year with SPIRIT!
We’re thrilled to celebrate the final week of school with a fun-filled lineup of Themed Dress-Up Days! This is a great chance for students to get creative and show off their school pride. Here’s what’s coming up:
Monday, 5/19 – Future Me Day
Dress as your future dream job—doctor, artist, athlete, anything you aspire to be!
Tuesday, 5/20 – Decades Day
Flashback fashion from the 70s, 80s, or 90s—let’s see those retro vibes!
Wednesday, 5/21 – Beach Day
Channel the sunshine with Hawaiian shirts and summer style (no swimwear, please).
Thursday, 5/22 – Hat Day
Cap off the week with your favorite summer hat!
Let’s make this last week one to remember! All outfits should be school-appropriate. Thanks for your support and school spirit!

Student Council Supports a Neighboring School in Need
This week, the TGS Student Council proudly presented a donation to Neoga CUSD #3 to support their recovery efforts after a devastating tornado earlier this spring.
Through selling snacks to 6th grade students and staff during study hall, our students raised funds to help fellow students rebuild and recover.
We’re incredibly proud of their compassion, leadership, and commitment to community.

Storytime under the sun!
Mrs. Breer's kindergarteners and their amazing second-grade buddies teamed up for some joyful reading on the playground today. There’s nothing better than books, buddies, and a little fresh air!

Happy Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week!
We’re celebrating our incredible educators and staff who go above and beyond every day. A heartfelt THANK YOU to the Teutopolis Education Association, local businesses, community members, and the Unit #50 Office for helping us show our appreciation with some delicious treats!
Your kindness and support made our staff feel truly valued. We are grateful!

A huge THANK YOU to the Father Daughter Committee for their generous donation to our student activity account! We’re excited to put it to great use at our end-of-year celebration—complete with ice cream and inflatables!

Mrs. Mellendorf’s first graders celebrated in style last week with a “Buttered Toast” party!
After reading all six Mercy Watson chapter books, students honored the beloved pig’s favorite treat—toast with a great deal of butter! From daring adventures to laugh-out-loud moments, the class loved every page of Mercy’s delightful tales. What a fun and delicious way to celebrate reading!

What a show! Our kindergarten stars lit up the stage in "The Greatest Show on Earth"! From clowns to ringmasters, every moment was filled with laughter, joy, and pure magic. Huge thanks to our teachers, families, and little performers for making it a night to remember!

The sun is shining, the laughter is flowing, and TGS is in full bloom! 🌞 From a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny to hands-on science experiments with Peeps, our students are soaking up every moment of spring fun! 🌷💫

Mrs. Kreke's kindergarten mathematicians explored nonstandard units of measurement—and what better tools than their own shoe prints and bodies?
They measured the ramp in the East Wing using themselves as rulers. Who knew math could be this fun?

Kindergarten students in Mrs. Jansen's kindergarten class had so much fun working on their math facts with our amazing DO student, Madi Deters. We love seeing our little learners excited about numbers and getting support from such wonderful role models.

Mrs. Wendt’s kindergarten class kicked off their End-of-Year ABC Countdown with A for Autographs and Animal Crackers!
The fun has officially begun, and we can’t wait to celebrate the last weeks of school in the most exciting way! Stay tuned for more ABC adventures!

Shoutout to our amazing 4th graders in Mrs. Schackmann's ELA class!
They recently wrapped up their biography presentations, and wow—what a journey through history it was!
From the brave explorations of Ernest Shackleton, to the inspiring story of Anne Frank, to the guiding strength of Sacagawea, our students brought these incredible figures to life with creativity and heart.
So proud of all their hard work and curiosity!

March Madness isn’t just for basketball — Mrs. Repking’s and Mrs. Willman’s First Grade classes have been having their own Picture Book March Madness tournament! Students started with a sweet 16 bracket of picture books and voted all the way down to the final 2… and the champions are in!
In Mrs. Repking’s class, the winner is… “The Book that Can Read Your Mind”! It took the crown by just 2 votes — talk about a close game!
In Mrs. Willman’s class, the champion is… “OVERDUE: The Misadventure of Bob the Book”! What a title!
They had so much fun reading and voting — a big shoutout to all our young readers for diving into every story.

Our first grade students had the honor of learning from local veterans during a meaningful Flag Presentation. They explored the rich history of the American flag and discovered the importance of respecting and caring for it.
To make the experience even more special, each student received their very own flag to take home!
We are so grateful to the veterans who shared their time and stories with us. Thank you for your service and dedication.

Mrs. Breer's kindergarten class is sending out a huge THANK YOU to the TEF for making their mini-grant dreams come true! The kiddos are absolutely loving all the new experiences and opportunities this grant has provided.
Your kindness and generosity make a difference every day!

Our first graders had a blast at the Pete the Cat show at EPC today! After the show, they enjoyed lunch together in their first-grade wing and then rotated through five fun Pete the Cat stations in their classrooms. Check out their awesome Pete headbands and favorite Pete books!
