Celebrating Read Across America!
Our amazing 1st grade students had a blast this week in small groups with Mrs. Herboth, Mrs. Chesnut, and Mrs. Borries as they celebrated Read Across America! They even had the opportunity to share a story with our local heroes, Deputy Dale and Officer Ritz.
It's always a joy to see our students connecting with their community while developing a love for reading.
Biography Presentations in Ms. Mette’s Class!
This week, some of Ms. Mette’s 4th graders went above and beyond by dressing the part for their biography presentations! From famous historical figures to modern-day heroes, the students showcased their hard work, creativity, and dedication in a truly impressive way.
We’re so proud of their efforts in learning about and honoring these important figures from history!
2nd Grade Animal Habitat Exploration!
This month, Mrs. Waldhoff’s 2nd grade class dove into the fascinating world of animal habitats! The students researched various habitats and then got creative by building their own models using shoe boxes!

Dental Health Fun with Mrs. Jeffries!
Today, our kindergarten classes had a special guest – Mrs. Jeffries! She visited to teach our little learners all about the importance of dental health.
From brushing techniques to the best foods for strong teeth, the kids had a blast while learning how to keep their smiles shining bright!
Our little learners had a blast exploring food and nutrition in their latest unit! From discovering the importance of healthy eating to getting hands-on in the kitchen, they learned and played. The grand finale? A delicious pizza party… made by the students themselves!
We love seeing our preschoolers engage in fun, interactive learning that fuels both their minds and creativity.
Today, we were lucky to have the amazing team from Land of Smiles visit TGS and give a fun and educational dental hygiene presentation to our Kindergarten through 4th-grade students!
From learning how to brush and floss properly to understanding the importance of keeping our teeth healthy, the kids had a blast while gaining important knowledge for a lifetime of smiles!

What a fantastic week it’s been for our preschoolers! They had an amazing time reading with their buddies and exploring the Effingham Library. We love seeing their excitement for books grow!

🚲 Teutopolis Grade School 3rd Graders are Reading for Bikes! 🚲
Our 3rd-grade students are having a blast participating in the Books for Bikes program through the Illinois Masonic Lodge! Each time they read a book and pass their AR test, they earn a ticket for a chance to win a bike and a helmet!
This fun and motivating program is helping our students build strong reading habits while giving them the chance to win an awesome prize. The drawing for the bike will take place in March, and it's been an exciting 3rd-quarter journey watching them read so many books.

🧸 Polar Bear Den Challenge in Mrs. Drees' Class! 🐻❄️
Mrs. Drees' creative 3rd grade students took on the challenge of building polar bear dens using marshmallows and toothpicks! ⏰ With a time limit and some imagination, everyone worked together to construct their own unique dens—and guess what? They all succeeded! 👏
It was a great hands-on way to learn about teamwork, problem-solving, and the habitats of polar bears. We couldn't be more proud of our little architects! 🏗️✨

For the past few weeks, our first-grade students have been diving into contractions with hands-on learning! Mrs. Repking and Mrs. Willman’s classrooms were transformed into operating rooms where our little “doctors” performed contraction surgery to learn all about combining words! 💡📝
