1st Grade Entomologists! Students in Mrs. Kinkelaar’s class ended their insect unit by going on a Bug Hunt!





Mrs. Kreke’s kindergarten class and Mrs. Schackmann’s 4th grade class spent their buddy time decorating the school’s sidewalks! There were many great doodles, designs, and drawings created.


Thank you to the 5th and 6th grade band and Mrs. O for a fantastic Spring Band Concert! Congratulations to our two 5th grade recipients of the Outstanding 5th Grade Band Student Award and to our 6th grade recipient of the B&J Music Outstanding Student Award.




Fourth graders had an amazing day of exploration at the St. Louis Science Center today.

Mrs. Wendt's kindergarten class has adopted a few class pets! They are raising butterflies and ladybugs.




TGS preschoolers and their special person had a great night of painting!





These first graders from Mrs. Mellendorf’s class began a narrative writing project around Easter and recently completed the final step by reading their books to the class. They sure enjoyed spending some time becoming an author and an illustrator! If you know any of these students, ask them about their book titled “The Easter Bunny”.





5th grade reading classes hosted their own March Madness "Tournament of Books." They voted on a "Sweet Sixteen" to start. Then all students voted each round on a winner between two books. The 2024 book of the year for 5th grade was "Unstoppable" by Tim Green!









TGS preschoolers took a trip to the Effingham Public Library! Students toured the library, heard stories and songs, put together a craft, and enjoyed some play time.



Fifth grade students have been working HARD on their IAR tests all week!! Each student gets three tickets entered in a DAILY RAFFLE for prizes! These girls chose LUNCH with a teacher! Great Job FIFTH GRADERS!


Mrs. Willman‘s class took their phonics lesson outside and learned about the suffix -ful! We are thankFUL for this beautiFUL weather!

Kindergarten students in Mrs. Jansen’s class worked together on a STEM project. Students were asked to make a basket out of paper and tape. They were excited to see how many plastic eggs each of their baskets would hold.






TGS kindergarten classes had fun visiting Illinois State Representative Adam Niemerg's office.


Mrs. Wendt's kindergarten class did a great job reading and acting out The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle!


2024 Solar Eclipse Day! Mrs. Kreke’s kindergarten class spent the day doing projects and making their own Solar Eclipse snack! Our day was amazing and very exciting! This is definitely a day we will always remember.





The solar eclipse excitement was unreal and contagious! Students were able to learn about and see different effects the eclipse had on shadows, animals, the temperature, and colors. It was a day we will never forget!







Mrs. Kreke’s kindergarten class finished up their ocean unit with Ocean Jell-O and a side of sea turtles.

TGS 6th graders learned about the health of their environment at Ballard Nature Center. Thank you to Ballard Nature Center and the USDA office for great presentations, today!
