Opening Day! The TGS 5th GRADE teachers are divided!!

Second grade students from Mrs. Yager’s and Mrs. Bushue’s classes wrapped up their adjective unit by describing foods. They had to use their five senses at the “Dragon Diner” and critique the food. They had so much fun!

Ms. Mette’s 4th grade students are “buddies” with Mrs. Jansen’s kindergarten class. They enjoyed playing the card game “War” together.

Fifth grade students helped their first grade buddies solve addition and subtraction problems. When they were successful and got them all correct they worked as a team to build colorful rainbows together! Together these students had so much fun today!

After learning about anemometers in science, the students in Mrs. Drees' class made their own with partners. It took teamwork, trial and error, and problem solving to get them to spin in circles when they blew on them. Too bad it wasn't a windy day today!!

The first graders had the honor of listening to local veterans speak about the history of and how to handle the American flag. They were presented with their own flags to take home.

St. Patrick’s Day was so much fun in preschool! Our lucky little learners made shamrocks with puffy paint, created a delicious edible rainbow, and waved their magic shamrock wands. ☘️

These cute little leprechauns tried catching a leprechaun themselves. Good try first grade! Maybe next year you will have better luck!

The Lake Land College dental hygiene students and teachers visited the kindergarten, first, and second grade classes at TGS. The students enjoyed the fun and informative program about dental health.

TGS supports and is excited to cheer on our favorite players, The Wooden Shoes!

Mrs. Kreke’s class received their books from Mrs. Deter’s class today. We loved our new books all about us! A huge thanks to our Jr. high buddies.

EGM Festival. 5th and 6th grade band students went to EIU today to practice with other students from district 5. These students are All District Musicians. They practice for a few hours and performed a concert together at the Doudna Fine Arts Building at EIU.

"You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax. All you need is a book." - Dr. Seuss
First graders in Mrs. Mellendorf's class have enjoyed Read Across America Week by reading many of the wonderful books by Dr. Seuss. Some activities included reading to their stuffed animal reading buddy with a fox in socks puppet, making Thing 1 and Thing 2 hats with that crazy, blue hair, getting together with their 5th grade buddy in Mrs. Wells's class to draw the Cat in the Hat, and being wacky on Wednesday!

TGS students and staff had a great time at our 3rd quarter celebration!
