Students in Mrs. Drees’ third grade class are learning about plants and seeds. Ms. Drees, a high school helper, assisted in the science experiment. How many days will it take for our pumpkin seeds to sprout?

TGS started Buddy Classes this year! Buddy classes meet once a month to give students across grade levels an opportunity to build relationships. Mrs. Repking's 6th grade class and Mrs. Hoene's 2nd grade class are buddies this year. They had fun making art projects together for their first buddy activity.

We had a great turnout for Popsicles on the Playground for our preschooler students and parents!

The Teutopolis second graders made cards for the veterans going on the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. on September 24. The veterans will receive the cards in the mail call on the flight home.

Mrs. Chojnicki’s class had fun wrapping up their first science chapter by making edible plant cells.

These first graders worked on their speaking and listening skills last week during their Show and Tell session. They had to take turns and tell their friends about the items in their Mouse bag. After sharing/speaking, they were granted an extra recess and were able to read their books and play with their toys together.

Sixth grade students had an out-of-this-world time today making a model of the planets' distances from the sun.

Mrs. Drees’ 3rd graders worked in teams today to see who could make the longest paper chain. They could only use one piece of paper, scissors, glue, and a 25 min time limit. Each group quickly found a strategy that worked well. It was a close race, but the yellow group made the longest chain.

Sixth graders buddy up with second graders to help them login to and bookmark the most used second grade websites. They can't wait to work with their buddy on another project next month.

Mrs. Jansen's class had fun hunting for the Gingerbread Man. The Gingerbread Man left clues in different areas of the school leading our class around the building on a tour to introduce the students to our staff at TGS. They met Mrs. Wakefield our Tech teacher, Mrs. Beckman our P.E. teacher, Ms. Apple our music teacher, Mrs. Hotze our librarian, Mrs. Hoehn our principal, our secretaries Mrs. Thoele and Mrs. Beckman, and our cooks. After taking the tour of our building we found the Gingerbread Man in our classroom. We then ate the Gingerbread Man for our snack.

First grade is off to a great start! Students in Mrs. Mellendorf's class discussed how to be a bucket filler instead of a bucket dipper! They will be making good choices and will be using kind words as they work towards filling their green bucket!

TGS Families,
We had a great first day at TGS! Tomorrow, 8/17/22, is our first full day of school, and I have a couple reminders about TGS dismissal.
1. Parents must call the TGS office with transportation changes. If parents do not call the office with any transportation changes, we will assume your child is going home their normal way.
2. The Society Hall Parking Lot is not part of TGS parent pick up. Our parent pick up area is on the east side of the building. There is no TGS supervision in The Society Hall Parking Lot. For the safety and security of our students, please use the parent pick up area on the east side of the building.
Thank you for your cooperation with dismissal at TGS. We look forward to another great day with the students tomorrow!

TGS Families,
Students may be dropped off tomorrow, 8/16/22, as early as 7:15am. Students K-3rd grade will be supervised in the gym until 8am and students 4th-6th grade will be supervised in the cafeteria until 8am. Teachers will arrive at 8am, and students will be dismissed to classrooms. Please remember there is no classroom supervision until 8am. Please call or email if you have any questions. We are excited to see all our students tomorrow!
