Mrs. Kreke’s kindergarten class watched their butterfly change from caterpillar to butterfly!


Mrs. Ziegler's preschoolers loved the trip to Hartke’s Pumpkin Barn and the park! They saw lots of pumpkins and gourds.




TGS kindergarteners celebrated Grandparent's Day! They sang songs, recited a poem, gave their grandparents a tour of their classroom, and had some yummy treats. Grandparents are so very special!

Mrs. Willman's first graders celebrated International Dot Day. They read the story, The Dot and then worked as a team to create one big dot! The book talks about making your mark and celebrating all of your accomplishments big or small!



Mrs. Niebrugge's preschool classes visited Hartke's Pumpkins! The students loved the variety of pumpkins. There were so many interesting pumpkins to look at. Special thanks to Chris Hartke for sharing some pumpkins with the children!




Aiden Bloemer sent in a couple of monarch caterpillars for Mrs. Kreke's 5th grade homeroom to hatch.



Students in Mrs. Mellendorf's first grade classroom have been learning how to create a very detailed sentence. They discussed how some sentences can be boring or "BLAH" and how some sentences have great detail so they are considered to be a "WOW" sentence. They are working hard to become wonderful writers this year!
More Apple Orchard Fun!

Teutopolis Kindergarten had a wonderful time at the Sullivan Apple Orchard today!
Mrs. Jansen’s kindergarten class has been learning about the sun for the last couple of weeks. The class used thermometers and different colors of fabric to see which color the sun would make the hottest. They discovered that the black fabric was the hottest.
They also used thermometers in different items. They used an ice cream sandwich, water, sand, and dirt to see how the sun affected each item.


Mrs. Jansen’s 2nd graders loved learning about the life cycle of butterflies!
Mrs. Bushue’s 2nd graders have been playing games to work on their reading fluency.
Mrs. Yager’s class has been trying out some new reading games. Learning is fun!
Mrs. Kinkelaar’s first graders have been busy learning about their classroom community!

It was a busy day in Mrs. Kreke's kindergarten class today!

Preschoolers have been doing lots of work with their names! They have been learning all about each other the first few weeks of school.


Mrs. Chesnut's reading class is participating in a web-based program called MobyMax this year. MobyMax offered a contest for classes to earn 20,000 points by the end of October. Mrs. Chesnut's class has already answered so many questions correctly that they have met their goal. For meeting their goal, the class earned a $55 Amazon gift card. Mrs. Chesnut and the students will decide together how they wish to spend the money earned.

Mrs. Jansen's class went on a Gingerbread man hunt! That tricky gingerbread man left notes in different areas of the school building. At each area the students met different staff members. They finally caught him just in time for snack!
