It was Wacky Wednesday at TGS today for Dr. Seuss week. We had some wacky kiddos come to Mrs. Ziegler's preschool today!
Teutopolis High school student council members visited TGS for Dr. Seuss Week. Zoe Cremens read "Yertle the Turtle", Tia Probst shared Rice Krispie treats, Isabelle Hemmem brought Dr. Seuss coloring pages, and Macy Probst read "Green Eggs and Ham" to Mrs. Jansen's kindergarten class.
Watson Lee brought in Thing 1 and Thing 2 to help kick off our Dr. Seuss week. Thank you Watson and family!
Mrs. Hoene's second grade class had a visit from Dale, the calf, during FFA week. Dale, the calf, came to school along with Ethan, Elizabeth, and Mr. & Mrs. Weidner. Ethan and Elizabeth explained to the class what has to be done to care for Dale. The students had a chance to help bottle feed Dale and pet him! A bag full of goodies was handed out to the class. The students really enjoyed seeing Dale and learning something new! We want to thank the entire Weidner family for the fun experience!!
Miss Mette’s fourth graders used engineering skills along with science knowledge of circuits, batteries, and conductors of electricity to light an LED bulb.

Mrs. Kinkelaar’s first graders had the best morning practicing lots of reading skills! After reading the story, “The Mitten” by: Jan Brett, students acted the story out, sequenced the story, and retold the story with partners!

100th day in Mrs. Jansen's Kindergarten classroom. Counting 10 different snacks to make a 100 Day Snack Mix, popping 100 balloons, and weighing and comparing different items that we brought in for 100th Day.
Indoor recess is not as popular as outdoor recess, but TGS students are making the best of it. During indoor recess on Thursday, 6C students practiced their art skills. The attached picture was drawn by a student in 6C.

Happy 100 Days of School! Mrs. Breer's kindergarten class celebrated with lots of different 100 Day activities, including popping 100 balloons!!!
Mrs. Probst's students absolutely loved the 100th day of school! We spent the day counting, finding 100 Hershey kisses, putting together puzzles and shooting off confetti poppers!

Mrs. Jansen's kindergarten class has been learning about weather in science. They had fun making a volcano erupt, a tornado in a bottle, snow, and discovering what happens in the sky to make it thunder and lightning.
Mrs. Jansen's kindergarten class had fun using shaving cream to practice writing 3 letter words.
