Progress continues on the TJHS expansion project, and we are excited to share new photos of the work underway.
Since our last update, the project has continued to move forward with the block walls now in place and preparation beginning for roofing deck installation. This expansion will help prepare for the transition of sixth grade to TJHS in the 2026-27 school year while supporting the needs of our growing student population.
This work remains an important part of the district’s long-term facility improvement plans. Like the THS Cafeteria upgrade last summer, this project is being funded through district reserves.
We are grateful for the continued support as we invest in strong learning spaces for our Wooden Shoes.

Today we took the “senior signing” pictures for Derek Schmidt and James Hughey, who have enlisted in the Army National Guard. They are scheduled for Basic Combat & Advanced Individual Training shortly after graduation. Congratulations and thank for your willingness to serve!

Congratulations to Jack Mersman for earning first place at the Illinois FFA Agricultural Mechanics CDE in the Carpentry division!
This outstanding accomplishment reflects Jack’s dedication, skill, and countless hours of hard work in agricultural education and FFA. We are incredibly proud of the way he represented our school, community, and FFA chapter through this achievement.
Jack will be formally recognized and awarded for his accomplishment at the Illinois FFA State Convention this June.
