
Mrs. Kreke’s class received their books from Mrs. Deter’s class today. We loved our new books all about us! A huge thanks to our Jr. high buddies.





EGM Festival. 5th and 6th grade band students went to EIU today to practice with other students from district 5. These students are All District Musicians. They practice for a few hours and performed a concert together at the Doudna Fine Arts Building at EIU.

Preschoolers enjoyed ‘Bring a Bear’ day lastThursday! They had bear bread for a snack, tasted honey, and graphed their stuffed animals. It was a “beary” special day! 🧸

First graders in Mrs. Mellendorf's class have enjoyed Read Across America Week by reading many of the wonderful books by Dr. Seuss. Some activities included reading to their stuffed animal reading buddy with a fox in socks puppet, making Thing 1 and Thing 2 hats with that crazy, blue hair, getting together with their 5th grade buddy in Mrs. Wells's class to draw the Cat in the Hat, and being wacky on Wednesday!

Mrs. Tipton's kindergarten class celebrated Read Across America Day by wearing their PJ's and reading good books with friends.

TGS preschool students traveled to the Effingham Public Library. Stories, songs, a craft, and play time made a wonderful trip!




Rob Zumbahlen's number was drawn for the Halftime Hoop Shoot Contest at last night's basketball game. Rob asked TGS sixth grader, Kale Goeckner, to shoot for him. Kale won $59 for Rob. Rob was kind enough to split his winnings with Kale! Awesome teamwork!


Mrs. Meyer’s class is wishing Caleb Bloemer and all seniors GOOD LUCK at their game tonight!


Students in Mrs. Jansen's kindergarten class enjoyed learning about DINOSAURS and pretended to be paleontologist. They were given a toy chisel and brush to find out what their surprise was in their dinosaur egg.


Jessica Borries came into Mrs. Jansen's kindergarten class and shared her artistic talent. She prepared a heart for each student. The students then used water color to paint their heart. The students enjoyed Allison's mom coming in.


Mrs. Jansen’s kindergarten class had fun on the 100th day of school! They enjoyed blowing party horns while counting by 1’s,5’s,and 10’s to 100, weighing 100 items that students brought in, counting how many licks it takes to finish their lollipops, and bundling 100 fingers.





Mrs. Kinkelaar’s 1st graders are ready for Super Bowl Sunday!


Students in Mrs. McClellan's 1st grade classroom learned all about penguins. First, they worked in groups to read and gather information about a specific type of penguin. Then, they typed their information on a document and added a picture. Lastly, they presented their information to the class! Great job first graders!







Dr. Chris Weber shared his knowledge of the eye, how the eye works, and some of the tools he uses as an optometrist. This was a great way to wrap up our science unit on the eyes.


In preparation for next week's Buddy Activity, 6C became proficient at some second grade games. The 6C students will teach their Second Grade Buddy Class how to play the games next week.
