
Old technology and teamwork was a fun way to start a character analysis project. Look for the finished projects in the sixth grade hallway.


Mrs. Kinkelaar’s first graders chose their favorite book for their March Madness Book Edition activity: The Pout-Pout Fish by: Deborah Diesen!


TGS preschoolers wrapped up their bear unit. They celebrated by having a “Bring Your Bear to School” day! They graphed their bears in many ways. The bears went everywhere with them. They also made and enjoyed Teddy Bear Bread It was a BEARY fun day!





Mrs. Habing's 6th grade math class met their goal of 100 test grades of 100%. The challenge started from the first day of school. They celebrated with an ice cream party!





Mrs. Habing's 6th Grade Math Class had their yearly Pi memorization challenge. This year's winner is John Pruemer. John recited Pi to the 107th decimal place. He received a 'Pi'napple, Oatmeal Cream 'Pi'es, and a gift certificate for a 'Pi'e from Niemerg's. Great job John!


Preschoolers began their bears unit this week! They worked on their fine motor skills when they made a play dough bear 🐻


The first grade team decided to take the math lesson outside one day last week! 🌞 The kids worked on fractions in a set. I think they would all agree, this lesson was a 10/10!


Writing Brings Rewards
Sixth grader, Grace, wrote an email to author and sports writer, Fred Bowen. In honor of her inquisitive question, he sent her four autographed books: Speed Demon, Outside Shot, Soccer Trophy Mystery, and Lucky Enough. Look for these new titles in the TGS library.


TGS 3rd-6th grade students will be taking the IAR state assessment the week of April 4th-8th. You can help your child prepare by ensuring they are well rested and have had a good healthy breakfast each morning. Please contact your child's teacher or the TGS office if you have any questions about the upcoming state assessment.


Mrs. Mellendorf's class has been working on "How-To" reading and writing activities. They followed the steps to make Shamrock Pie in a Cup. They utilized this activity to make predictions, follow directions, and practice measuring. They also worked on graphing and analyzing their data, making addition and subtraction problems, making a cute little craft, and enjoying a tasty treat! Eight of the students LOVED the shamrock pie and ten of the students were not too sure about it!

Mrs. Gaddis and Mrs. Deters exploratory class was excited to invite Mrs. Jansen’s kindergarten class to TJHS. The junior high students produced a book for each student and read the book to him/her while enjoying a snack and a drink .
Thank you TJHS students! The kindergarten students loved their books.



March Madness Book Edition! Mrs. Kinkelaar’s first graders are participating in the March Madness fun and reading books to decide which is their favorite! Stay tuned to see who the winner is!


TGS students and staff are encouraged to wear blue and gold on Tuesday, March 15th to support the 7th grade TJHS volleyball girls playing for the state championship. Go Shoes!


Students recently celebrated the unique day of 2/2/22 so first graders completed time capsules! It may seem far away for these first graders, but they will be seniors on another unique day in the future, 3/3/33! The students in Mrs. Mellendorf's first grade class were very excited to bring these time capsules home to their parents!

I am encouraging all TGS students and staff to wear their blue and gold tomorrow to support the 7th grade volleyball team going to state!

Fourth graders were treated to presentation by Keith Dennis on the mechanics of an electric car! Thank you Keith for an electrifying presentation!





Fun with Dr. Seuss! High school students, Abigail Wortman, Alaina Helmink, and Jennifer Uthell, read Dr. Seuss books and did fun activities with Mrs. Jansen's kindergarten class.

Mrs. Repking's 4th grade ELA class has been giving how to speeches.



Mrs. Willman's class really enjoyed the Dr. Seuss books the EHS Student Council read to them. Thank you EHS Student Council for coming to celebrate Dr. Seuss week with kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade!
