To get in the holiday spirit, the second grade students decorated gingerbread trains today. Thank you to parents for donating items and coming in to help!




Last week, 1st Grade had a fun-filled week with the Polar Express. They read the book, worked on a Reader's Theatre, boarded a pretend train, received bells from the North Pole, received a train ticket, drank hot cocoa, made a Polar Express snack, and ended the week watching the movie!

Officer Brown of the Effingham County Sheriff Department was driving by and saw the preschoolers playing on the playground. He stopped to say hello and handed out stickers to the students.


6th grade band students went Christmas caroling! Here is Cecilia Donsbach, Macy Petersen, and Alexis Bloemer in kindergarten!
Kindergarten students in Mrs Jansen’s class did a Gingerbread Man STEM activity. Each table of students built a boat out of recycled materials that could float and keep the Gingerbread man from getting wet.
Mrs. Copple's third grade STEAM students enjoyed their lesson "Understanding Digestion." They simulated how the digestive process breaks food down into the nutrients and energy the body needs.


The kindergarten and pre-school hallways are ready to spread Christmas cheer!

1st graders in Mrs. McClellan's and Mrs. Kinkelaar's classes have been learning about different holidays around the world. After learning about the country of Israel and how Hanukkah is celebrated, students played the famous dreidel game!

1st Grade Thanksgiving Feast
After learning about The First Thanksgiving students in Mrs. McClellan's class made Thanksgiving bracelets. Each color of the bracelet represents an event the pilgrims endured or food the pilgrims had at their first feast!

Students in Mrs. Jansen’s kindergarten class enjoyed a Thanksgiving Feast after learning about the Pilgrims and Native Americans.
Mrs. Jansen's kindergarten students participated in a STEAM activity where they worked with partners to help save Sam the gummy worm. Sam fell out of his boat(the cup), and students were asked to only use a paper clip to work together to put Sam into his life preserver (gummy ring) without using their hands.
Preschool wrapped up a friendship and kindness unit by making pizzas. Students assembled their own personal pizza and enjoyed their delicious snacks!
