On December 3, TGS fourth graders spent the afternoon celebrating the Illinois Bicentennial. There was cake and ice cream, Patty Winn shared a Civil War nurse story, quill writing, an Abraham Lincoln puzzle, Illinois bingo, Civil War time artifacts, and an Illinois timeline. We want to send a special thank you to Dieterich Bank for providing each student with an Illinois quarter, Effingham IGA for the delicious cake, and IDOT for giving each student an Illinois map. Happy 200th Birthday, Illinois!

It’s Computer Science Education Week! Miss Mette’s fourth graders completed an Hour of Code with millions of other students and teachers in over 180 countries around the world.

I received this note from the fan from Breese who experienced the medical emergency at the boys basketball game Friday night. It is copied here with her permission:
"My name is Diane Warnecke. I was the person that caused all the commotion at your game that required an ambulance to be called. I know that several people from you community stepped up to help me in my time of need and I would like very much to say thank you.
If you have any idea who they were, I would appreciate it if you could pass along my sincere thanks to them and let them know that I am home and doing well.
I appreciate your time and your help."
Many thanks to everyone who helped.
