On February 26th, Economics students at THS were visited by Mr. Rich Hartke of Prudential Financial. Mr. Hartke discussed investing/financial planning with the class. A big thanks to Mr. Hartke for sharing his expertise with us!

Athletic PE finished “Max Week”. Everyone in class saw awesome improvements. Athletic PE completes strength training 3 days a week and Speed Training 2 days a week.




On February 24th, Mr. Brad Koester of First State Bank of Beecher City hosted a question/answer session on topics related to banking and finance with Economics students at THS. We thank Mr. Koester for taking the time to visit our class!
Congratulations to Athletic PE “Lifters of the Month”

As part of their cardiovascular chapter, THS Anatomy & Physiology students were able to dissect and study cow, sheep, and deer hearts. As well as use a stethoscope, sphygmomanometer (blood pressure), and practice heart rates. Whole-heartedly love hands-on learning!
Foods and Advanced Foods classes enjoyed making pumpkin, chocolate, apple and peach pies.


Attention Deer Hunters!
The Quality Construction Co. (aka Shop Class) is a group making deer blinds to sell to the public. They are using as much recycled wood for cost efficiency.
The next project that will be for sale is a shooting table for shooting clay pigeons.
All prices will be announced later.
The last group is making a doghouse for Mr. Stortzum's dog.




Horticulture harvested their first crop. They were able to deliver fresh lettuce to the THS staff today.



Agriculture classes had a visit from SFC Derek Meyer from Illinois Army National Guard. He did a workshop on Behavior Styles.

Mrs. Grinestaff’s Careers Class had to escape the aliens at the "College Fair Escape Room”. Most groups were successful in figuring out the career questions to win keys to get out of the room!



THS Biology students were able to practice their Punnett squares in shaving cream! Always a fun, stress-relieving activity!

Accounting students recently learned how to complete payroll, pay payroll taxes, and write out employee checks. Our future looks bright!



Students in Agriculture had a guest speaker today from the USDA. He spoke to the students about FSA Farm Loans.

THS Anatomy & Physiology students worked on a blood typing lab with their blood chapter. They have been learning about the blood donation process and blood disorders as well.
